Osteopath Services

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a full holistic approach to each individual that uses manual therapy and other techniques to help achieve recovery and pain relief. With adaptations to each individual needs. I like to encourage movement with the treatment plan, so exercise rehab is advised and will be prescribed to help individuals when we collaborate together on the best management plan.

Personal Training

I offer bespoke training to each individual in whatever goals they would like achieving from moving more, helping with mental health or more specific goals such as aiming to achieve a certain lift or weight. I practise personal training out of Freedom Leisure Crowborough or if equipment is available, I also do home visits.

Sports Injuries

Through my 10+ years in the fitness industry and recent work as an osteopath, I have helped support recreational sport participants and athletes with a variety of injuries from different sporting activities. My primary aim is getting clients back to the activity they love, pain-free. My advice is rarely to tell you to stop doing the movements you enjoy, and instead aim to build a rehab programme of relevant movements and treatments to help you return to the sports you love as quickly as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can be treated?

Most types of musculoskeletal conditions, both acute or chronic can be treated, such as aches and pains from everyday life or injuries that may have occurred during physical activity.

If you are concerned about other health problems, they can be discussed and an appropriate management plan can be put in place, such as osteopathic treatment or referral to the right professionals.Frequesn

What techniques do I use?

A mixture of functional and mechanical manual therapy techniques as well as evidence-based exercises. I also use osteopathic manipulation techniques, Muscle energy techniques, stretching, sports massage and dry needling to help treat your problems. If there is a specific treatment that you are not comfortable with, I will endeavour to find a different treatment option for you.

What does an appointment entail?

The very first appointment consists of a Case History, where we will discuss your general health and events leading to your current issue.  This will be followed by a physical exam and a working diagnosis and treatment. From there we will devise the most appropriate management plan to help in your recovery, taking into consideration your history, lifestyle, and activities.

Initial appointments usually last between 45-60 minutes.

Follow up sessions start with an update regarding your progress, followed by any re-examinations and treatment.

Follow up appointments last 30 minutes.

    I cannot recommend him enough.

Silas has been helping me since I’ve started CrossFit with a few niggles. Not only does he help whilst you’re there with him, his after care is amazing, sending me stretches to do and just generally checking in to see how I’m doing. I cannot recommend him enough.
